  • Overview

    For 40 years, Richard has worked with the intricacies of labor and employment law representing individuals, businesses, and government organizations. Whether it's negotiating a collective bargaining agreement, investigating and defending a claim of discrimination, prosecuting a discrimination charge, handling an Employment Security issue, or defending a lawsuit or grievance arbitration Richard understands how to enforce his clients' best interests.


    Richard is not only a practicing attorney but a Mediator that helps resolve cases in a timely manner.


    Richard has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in claims brought under civil rights laws, protecting their constitutional and federal rights against improper government action. He has worked extensively in this area of law from the time he was a law clerk for a major law firm during law school.


    After law school, Richard worked for a group of maritime related companies as associate general counsel and risk manager handling all aspects of their businesses that involved risk management.


    Richard's background in business and litigation provides insight for business owners regarding legal systems that will protect them from liability and claims.


    He worked as a Pierce County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the civil division until 1991 when he joined Mann, King, Bingham & Scraggin as a partner.
