Following World War II, Robert W. Copeland and Stan King joined Earl Mann to establish the firm known as Mann, King & Copeland. Stan King was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and Robert W. Copeland was a naval war hero who awarded the Navy Cross for heroism while commanding the USS Samuel B. Roberts (DE-413) during the Battle of Leyte Gulf off Samar on October 25, 1945. Commander Copeland piloted his destroyer at a pair of heavy Japanese Cruisers, Chokai, and Chikuma causing the ship to turn its fire onto the Roberts, confusing the Japanese fleet and allowing the outgunned remainder of the U.S. Carrier Fleet to escape. The Naval Reserve Center Building on the Tacoma tide flats, and the frigate USS Copeland (FFG-25) bear his name in recognition of his service.

This trio of attorneys built the firm over the next several decades, which later became known as Mann, King, Bingham, Scraggin & Manger until the firm’s name was shortened to Mann & Johnson in 1991 and changed to Mann, Johnson, Wooster & McLaughlin shortly thereafter.

In 2007 Peter Kram and his firm, Leggett & Kram, merged with the firm, changing its name to Kram, Johnson, Wooster & McLaughlin (“KJWM”). In 2011, Johnson became a Superior Court judge and the firm's name was shortened to Kram & Wooster, P.S.

Peter Kram and Richard Wooster, both mid-westerners at heart, have been great colleagues and even better friends for several decades while  serving the local community and are proud partners of Kram & Wooster, P.S.
